Oil and Balm Cleansers are the best!!

Ever since I discovered Trilogy's Cleansing Balm I have been converted to finding new ways to take off my make-up. Gone are the days of a quickly grabbed make-up wipe or a half-hearted attempt with a cotton pad and cleanser. I admit I did dabble with the likes of the Micellar Waters, trying out the Simple one which did tempt me for a while, but my mascara was still there come morning time, leaving me looking like a lost member of a panda family!

Using my sample size of Trilogy's Cleansing Balm the night before my sister's wedding, I knew I had found the solution the panda eyes! It gently, but effectively, removed all of my mascara leaving no trace residue on the white towel afterwards! To say I was amazed was an understatement. For years I have tried - and failed - to find something to remove my mascara, always feeling disappointed in the morning as I knew there was residual make-up left leading to the inevitable panda eyes. It would lead me to avoid wearing mascara as I knew I had nothing effective to remove it with!

I now trust my Trilogy Cleansing Balm to effectively remove every single last trace of mascara from my eyes. It is so gentle and as it is made with seed oils and only natural ingredients it is non-irritating and also cares for your lashes. It is astounding to me that something so simple can melt away every single last trace of my mascara.  It has swept everything else I have tried out of the water and has swooped in like some make-up removing superhero leaving me to give up everything else for good!

Thanks heavens as I really was considering a move to China to live with my forgotten family!!

Along with my Balm, I have just been given The Body Shop's Camomile Oil Cleanser to trial and boy, is that good! I wondered if I really needed it, having already found my Holy Grail Product, but I needn't have been so dismissive. Applied to a dry face first to pick up make-up, dirt and grime, water is then added, which is where the magic happens. This unassuming little oil gets to work, getting rid of everything and leaving behind only a smooth and gently cleansed face, ready for the next step in your skin routine. =)

Having suffered from oily skin for many years, I, like many other other sufferers, shied away from oils for fear of becoming an oil slick. But having learnt that indeed the opposite is true, I have wholeheartedly embraced them and have never looked back!

I use these two in combination, first working a small amount of the Trilogy Cleansing Balm onto my eyelids, making sure to move down to my lashes so it can pick up the mascara. I then pump a little of The Body Shop's Camomile Cleansing Oil onto my palms, rub them together and then gently rub my hands over my face. After a minute or two I wet my hands and again rub them over my face so the oil becomes emulsified. I then move in with a dampened cleansing cloth to finally remove everything. I find this new combo works extremely well at not only removing my make-up, but also leaving my face feeling thoroughly cleansed and smooth.

I have found that my skin type has changed since returning from Australia in December 2014. Gone is the all over oiliness and in its place is some dry and dehydrated type that I don't recognise! I am left having to research all I can about my my new skin type and find appropriate cleansers, toners, moisturisers and of course, make-up removers! Thankfully it is safe to say these two cleansers are now staples in my routine.
